Mosses and Liverworts of Town and Garden

Sean Edwards has written a very handy small booklet to help in the identification of some of the commoner species that one is likely to come across. 46 species are illustrated, with details about where to find them, what they look like, and how to identify them with a hand lens. This has now been updated (October 2006) to keep pace with nomenclatural changes that follow Hill et al. 2006, and MaLoTaG now contains two new unfamilar names for common mosses (Brachytheciastrum velutinum and Sciuro-hypnum populeum as well as the reinstatement of Psueudoscleropdium purum.

The booklet prints onto 4 sides of A4 paper, and is available for downloading as two Adobe Acrobat pdf files. Download both files, print file 1 (2 pages), put the paper back in other way up and print file 2 (reverse two pages), fold and stapel. To download, you may need to right click and choose 'save target as' to save the file to your hard disc before opening it:
