Description

Epiphytic or lithophytic. Plants to 50 cm tall. Rhizomes erect, densely covered with scales at the apex; scales lanceolate, dark brown, entire. Fronds pinnate; stipes to 26 cm long, green or yellowish, scales dense towards base, higher with sparse smaller scales; lamina ovate, oblong or elliptic, 20–40 x 10–25 cm, pinnate; pinnae 2–6 on each side, stalked, longest pinnae at base, 7–19 x 2–6.2 cm, narrowly ovate to elliptic, mostly asymmetrical at base, long acuminate to caudate at apex, cuneate at base, entire to broadly crenate, rarely with few large teeth; terminal pinna rhomboid or somewhat trifid, free from pinnae below, 8–20 x 5–15 cm, sparse small scales on rachis and lamina beneath. Veins free, branched, not reaching margin, sometime more or less combined. Sori linear, oblique to costae; indusia linear .

Distribution in Thailand

PENINSULAR: Pattani.

Wider Distribution

India, Bangladesh, China, Burma, Vietnam.

Ecology

On wet rocks or tree trunks in dense forest.

Proposed IUCN Conservation Assessment

Least Concern (LC). This species is widespread and not under any known threats.
