DescriptionRhizome short, massive, short creeping to ascending; scales hairy. Stipes up to 87 cm long, hairy. Laminae indistinctly dimorphic with 15–26 pairs of pinnae; lamina oblong-lanceolate, up to 150 by 60cm; sterile pinnae oblong-lanceolate, gradually narrowing towards long-acuminate apex, narrowly cuneate at basiscopic and subtruncate at acroscopic bases, shallowly lobed, up to 30.5 by 4 cm; soriferous pinnae narrower, cuneate or broadly cuneate at base, very shortly stalked or sessile, up to 20 by 2.5 cm, shallowly lobed; lobes semi-orbicular, or obtuse at apex; papyraceous to softly chartaceous, glabrous, with spherical sessile glands or not; veins meniscioid with a few pairs of free veinlets near margin. Sori medial, round reniform to elongate reniform; indusia large, thin but firm, persistent, glabrous . Distribution in ThailandNORTHERN: Lampang, Tak; SOUTH-WESTERN: Kanchanaburi. Wider DistributionSri Lanka, Himalaya, Burma, and W China. EcologyMoist evergreen forests along streamlets at medium altitudes. Proposed IUCN Conservation AssessmentLeast Concern (LC). This variety is widespread and not under any known threats.
