Scales brown. Stipes 30–50 cm long, green. Laminae tripinnatifid, around 50 cm long, 10–30 cm wide; longest pinnae at the base, shortly stalked, 20–40 cm long, 6–20 cm wide, ovate, to 11 pairs; pinnules subsessile, dissected half way or more to costa, ultimate segments with rounded to truncate apex; veins free, simple or forked. Sori linear, on lower half of veinlets; indusia thin. Distribution in ThailandNORTH-EASTERN: Loei. Wider DistributionS China, Japan, Ryukyus, Taiwan, Philippines. Proposed IUCN Conservation AssessmentLeast Concern (LC). This species is widespread outside of Thailand and not under any known threat. NotesNote.– The occurence of this species in Thailand is as yet unconfirmed. The record comes from Mitsuta (1985) but we have seen no material.
