Description

Rhizome short creeping; scales nearly black, up to 13 by 1.5 mm, entire. Stipes about 30–50 cm long. Lamina subdeltoid or slightly longer than wide, about 40–60 cm long, tripinnatifid to quadripinnatifid, 6–8 pairs of primary pinnae; lower pinnae oblong with acute apex and long petiole, up to 30 by 19 cm; larger pinnules stalked, oblong-subdeltoid with acuminate apex and round to subcordate base, up to 10 by 3 cm; ultimate segments adnate at base, oblong to subquadrangular, rounded at apex, serrate at margin; herbaceous, light green, paler below, glabrous; veins pinnate, veinlets usually forked. Sori elongate along veinlets, about 6 mm long, those along basal veinlets diplazioid.

Distribution in Thailand

NORTHERN: Chiang Mai, Chiang Rai, Lamphun.

Wider Distribution

Yunnan and Burma.

Ecology

On moist ground or on mountain slopes in dense mixed or evergreen forests at 850–1600 m alt.

Proposed IUCN Conservation Assessment

Least Concern (LC). This species is fairly widespread and not under any known threat.
