DescriptionRhizome short, creeping, about 1 cm diam., scaly only on apical part; scales dark brown, up to 18 by 2 mm, entire. Stipes about 50 cm long, stramineous with dark scaly base. Frond subdeltoid, 60–80 by 50–70 cm, tripinnate to quadripinnatifid; lower pinnae stalked, gradually narrowing towards acute apex, up to 35 by 25 cm; pinnules shortly stalked, oblong with acuminate apex and subtruncate base, pinnate to pinnatisect; ultimate lobes oblong, oblique, round at apex, serrate; veins pinnate with 5–8 pairs of forked veinlets. Sori oblong, usually close to midrib, allantoid, rarely placed back to back, less than 2.5 mm long; indusia thin, fragile. Distribution in ThailandNORTHERN: Chiang Mai. Wider DistributionSri Lanka, India, Burma, also in Java. EcologyOn moist mountain slopes in dense forests at high altitudes. Proposed IUCN Conservation AssessmentLeast Concern (LC). This species is widespread and not under any known threat.
