Description

Rhizome creeping, c. 1 cm. diameter. Stipes to 80 cm long, when dry rather pale, glabrescent, slightly rough from the bases of fallen scales, when young covered with small linear-lanceolate dark toothed scales (teeth not black). Laminae deltoid, bipinnate, to 80 cm long and 80 cm wide; largest pinnae 50 cm long and 20 cm wide. Pinnules sessile or the lowest stalked (stalks 3 mm long), largest 2.5 cm wide, base truncate, apex acuminate, sides lobed 3/4 way towards the costa; largest lobes 7 mm wide, oblong, almost at right angles to the costa, apex rounded, edge slightly toothed towards apex. Veins to 7-jugate, all forked in the largest lobes, usually simple in smaller lobes, costae bearing few small narrow brown toothed scales. Sori spreading from the costule 1/2 to 2/3 of the length of the veins, lowest acroscopic sorus usually diplazioid, indusia very thin.

SOUTH-WESTERN: Phetchaburi.

Ecology

Moist shady forest.

Proposed IUCN Conservation Assessment

Data Deficient (DD). This species is known only from Kaeng Krachan in Thailand but its exact distribution in Malaysia and potential other localities in Thailand are uncertain.
