Description

Rhizome short, suberect, bearing a tuft of fronds at apex, scaly; scales oblong-subtriangular with acuminate apex, about 1 by 0.3 mm, concolorous, dark brown, toothed at margin. Stipes dark brown to nearly black towards base, 10–17 cm long, slightly grooved above. Laminae simple, narrowly lanceolate, 19–45 by 2.2–4.4 cm at middle, gradually narrowing towards both ends, acuminate at apex, attenuate but not decurrent at base, subentire in lower part, dentate at upper edges; herbaceous to softly papyraceous, dark when dried; midrib grooved above, distinctly raised on both surfaces. Sori one to four for a vein group, up to more than 1 cm long; indusia stiff , brown when dry.

Distribution in Thailand

PENINSULAR: Satun.

Wider Distribution

Sumatra, Peninsular Malaysia, Borneo and Java.

Ecology

On moist mountain slopes by streams in evergreen jungle at about 700 m alt.

Proposed IUCN Conservation Assessment

Least Concern (LC). This species is widespread outside of Thailand and not under any known threat.
