Description

Rhizomes shortly creeping, bearing fronds dorsiventrally. Rhizome scales blackish or greyish brown, clathrate, the apex hair-pointed, 10 mm long and c. 0.7 mm wide. Fronds glabrous except on basal part, green to stramineous, rarely castaneous. Laminae simple, 35–60 x 3.4–5.3 cm wide, fleshy, base narrowly cuneate, margin plane, apex long acuminate, revolute upward when dry; costa glabrous, above prominent and slightly grooved, beneath sharp or V-shaped, veins faint but present. Sori elongate, crossing the reticulate veins at 65° obliquely to costa, c. 4–5.5 mm apart, close to costa (but not touching) nearly to the edge.

Distribution in Thailand

PENINSULAR: Satun, Yala.

Wider Distribution

Burma, Malesia, eastwards to the Solomon Islands.

Ecology

On mossy tree trunks or on rocks usually in dense evergreen forests at low altitudes up to 300 m.

Proposed IUCN Conservation Assessment

Least Concern (LC). This species is widespread and not under any known threat.
