Distribution in ThailandNORTHERN: Chiang Mai, Chiang Rai. Wider DistributionTaiwan (known only from the type collection). EcologyOn moist ground or along streams in dense tropical evergreen forest at 400–1000 m alt Proposed IUCN Conservation AssessmentData Deficient (DD). This species is known from very few disjunct collections and its status at these localities requires further research. NotesUnpublished work has suggested this may be a synonym of Microlepia rhomboidea (Wall. ex Kunze) Prantl. We have not yet confirmed this.
