Stipe black, 12–20 cm long, scaly at base. Scales linear-lanceolate, margins with short projections. Lamina pinnate, lanceolate-oblong, 20–30 by 8–15 cm; pinnae long-stalked, stalk articulate, 10–15 pairs, c. 6 by 110–15 pairs, 1.5 cm, lanceolate, acute, margin revolute, crenate, base rounded to cordate; coriaceous, glabrous; rachis and pinna stalks black, shiny, costae black at base, venation weakly visible.
