Description

Rhizome short, ascending, scaly; scales narrow, linear-subtriangular, about 5 by 0.8 mm, entire or fimbriate when young, brown or darker. Stipes up to 30 cm long, stramineous or pale castaneous, pubescent throughout. Laminae trifoliate or quinquefoliate, the fertile soriferous ones more or less contracted; lateral leaflets very shortly stalked with gemmae at junction to rachis, ovate-oblong with rounded base and caudate-acuminate apex, about 12 by 5 cm, subentire or irregularly lobed; terminal leaflets simple or trilobed, cuneate to very broadly cuneate at base, subentire to shallowly lobed, up to 14 by 6 cm; rachis and raised underside of costa with short articulated hairs; lateral main veins raised below, hairy, veins forming copious areoles (venatio drynariae), with simple or branched included veinlets, visible on both surfaces, glabrous; texture softly papyraceous to herbaceous, glabrous on surfaces. Sori round to elongate, large, up to 1.5 mm diam., dorsal on anastomosing veins, two rows between adjacent main veins, sometimes confluent at maturity; indusia not seen.

PENINSULAR: Trang, Satun.

Ecology

On clayey ground at peak of hills near sea-level.

Least Concern (LC). This species is widespread and not under any known threat.
