About the online flora account
These internet pages provide an online interactive account of the Umbelliferae for the Flora of Bhutan. At present these pages are in development and only part of the functionality has been incorporated.
Descriptions and keys are taken from the printed account in Flora of Bhutan (due to be published late in 1999) and marked up in html. This stage is complete and the online Flora account fully usable and comparable to the traditional printed Flora .
Illustrations are provided when available.
Distribution maps will be generated on-the-fly from the specimen database in in the World Umbellifer Database. This is complete for E Himalayan specimens housed at BM, K and E. Each dot will be touch sensitive giving links to the specimen records that underpin the locality.
The functionality to display complete Specimen lists will also be incorporated in due course.
