DescriptionRhizome creeping; scales dark brown, up to 15 by 1 mm, toothed. Stipes about 50 cm long. Frond subdeltoid, about 50 by 50 cm, bipinnate; lower pinnae with stalks up to 5 cm long, gradually narrowing towards acute apex, up to 30 by 13 cm; larger pinnules oblong-subdeltoid, acute at apex, cordate at base, shortly stalked, lobed halfway to costule, up to 8.5 by 1.8 cm; lobes orbicular, serrate, up to 7 mm broad; softly papyraceous, dark green, paler beneath; veins pinnate with 5–8 pairs of simple veinlets. Sori oblong, usually along posterior half of veinlets, thus submarginal, up to 2 mm long; indusia thin but firm, persistent . Distribution in ThailandNORTHERN: Phitsanulok; PENINSULAR: Nakhon Si Thammarat. Wider DistributionVietnam, S China, Ryukyu, and SW Japan. EcologyOn mountain slopes in dense forests at 900–1500 m alt. Proposed IUCN Conservation AssessmentLeast Concern (LC). This species is widespread and not under any known threat.
